Snow showers are clearing out, but more cold temperatures are in the Denver weather forecast through Thursday morning, ahead of a warming trend.
Rain and snow will begin moving into the Front Range on Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures drop. Much needed moisture will affect everyone from the mountains across the plains for a couple of days.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day remains in effect Tuesday night into Wednesday as a heavy snowfall moves into the Denver weather forecast, resulting in difficult travel and possible downed trees and powerlines.
Three to 10 inches of snow is expected in the mountains, and it will be heaviest south of Interstate 70, stretching into Friday, according to the weather service.
If Colorado’s lackluster winter left you feeling a bit cheated, it appears Mother Nature is making some amends by bringing a “significant snowstorm” late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon.
