ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - 13% of Georgians rely on SNAP to put food on the table. If the federal government remains shut down, more than 1.4 million people in the Peach State will be without that assistance in November.

Without federal funding, the USDA will not have the resources to assist those eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is administered at the state level.
