This NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE7300 Wi-Fi router is a powerhouse with 3 bands at 2.4, 5 & 6ghz, 5 Ethernet ports for your connected devices, 6 antennas and a 3.0 USB-C port. First thing I noticed: this is a rather large router with wings (where the antennas are housed). Luckily, I had a place for it. Setup was relatively easy following the included instructions and downloading the Netgear Nighthawk app. There was a hiccup - I couldn't connect to the internet. I ended up calling customer service. It was about 7:30pm Pacific time and surprisingly, I got a live person relatively quickly. My situation actually corrected itself as I briefly waited. But I did learn that this Netgear router comes with only 90 days of tech support! That's crazy. I had a previous router (L***sys) and their customer support told me they were available 24/7 for as long as I own the router! Anyway, resetting the modem and the Nighthawk router resolved the issue. I have not had an issue since then - no drops and so fast!
During setup, I made my network SSID and password the same for each band as it was previously, so it took a little time, but every smart device connected to the nerwork automatically. That made things so quick and easy as I have about 40 smart devices connecting via wifi. You can set up different networks for each band if you like, but I wanted the simplicity of having all of my many devices automatically connect. I was able to easily setup a guest network with a different SSID for visitors.
My downstairs wifi, with my router upstairs, connects at approximately 932 download and 42 upload - that is blazing fast! Previously it was about 113 download and 32 upload. What an amazing improvement!! My ISP provides me with gig internet and I am now getting incredible speed via wifi.
The Nighthawk app is a useful tool for managing the router and network. It can show you how many and which devices are online at any time, you can reboot if necessary or check for updates. You can check on your network and make changes from anywhere
This router comes with 12 months of Netgear Armor which shows the security strength of your network and devices and they provide 12 months of Bitdefender Security if you choose.
I am thrilled with this NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE7300 Wi-Fi router. It is so fast and reliable with everything I need at my fingertips (with the app). I would highly recommend this router to anyone.

This is a very handy unit that looks great and works well. I paired the extender with a Nighthawk AX12 for full coverage of my large two-story home. The Nighthawk is downstairs at one end of the house and the extender is upstairs at the other end. I'm using it as a range extender and not a hot spot.\n\nI have been using Netgear routers and switches for years now and the software just keeps getting better. Configuration is intuitive and as simple or complex as you like. I used the Smart Connect feature which really simplified things but requires a little more thought if you need to directly access the extender during troubleshooting; use the provided link in the downloadable instructions and you're home free.\n\nThe coverage is excellent and now all devices, phones, tablets, and computers have a strong signal. REALLY strong and blazing fast at 5G.\n\nThe only minor issue I encountered was also mentioned in other reviews. Even though I immediately updated the firmware during installation, for about the first two weeks it went through a period of stabilizing where it would momentarily lose connection with the Nighthawk for a few seconds each day. It never dropped any devices and we wouldn't have noticed had I not been nearby and noticed the uplink light turn red. However, as reported by other users, this cleared up after about two weeks and it's been rock solid ever since. Perhaps it was building routing tables or something like that.\n\nFinally, I've never had a single Netgear device fail so expect it to last until the technology is obsolete.\n\nHighly recommended!

After endless calls and visits by my ADSL supplier regarding issues with WiFi coverage and dropout of devices. I had been given boosters. As a not so happy ADSL customer since this had a zero affect, so I read reviews of multiply individuals and businesses to make a judgement for compatibility and performance enhanced router with my ADSL and coverage issues I was experiencing, call it tailored reviews. I went ahead and replaced my ADSL supplied modem / router with this beast about 2 years ago. Really impressed with the coverage and the QoS (one of the main factors), I am seeing little coverage faults in a 1960's built home and little buffering during streaming on multiply devices. If any, its due to the devices used in my setup and the QoS really helps devices hungry for data and been given priority if they buffer. Looks v attractive in a modern home with the design and the lights too however they can be turned off if needed tho mine is in a cupboard with the rest of the kit. So no issues. I will upgrade in the near future however this still is performing well. One thing I'll point out, the device names stored intermittently stop showing bandwidth used which is a pain since a restore or factory reset is required. BUT since a firmware update was released it is all OK though I waited best part of a year.

Reviewed on www.homedepot.com·ERICG
This router replaces an older Netgear model that has served me well but has trouble with newer devices. This router is an improvement in two areas. File transfer speed between computers is substantially better. Most important is the improvement in range, which has doubled when compared to the old router. The router has 10 percent better range than the modern Wi-Fi router in my shop and I suspect the difference between the two is due to external antennas, the shop router has an internal antenna. This router gives a rock solid signal all the way to our above ground pool!\r\n\r\nI could have done without 'alien artifact' styling. Although it allows for good ventilation, the router has a large footprint. It does get warm and I suspect it will become a magnet for our cats on cold winter nights.\r\n\r\nSetup seemed unnecessarily complicated. I spent about 10 minutes going through many screens and the only non standard option I needed was to change the network name and password to match my previous ones. I also had to suffer two 90 second count-down delays that were presumably put there as protection against automated attacks.

I bought this router about 4 years ago when i first got gigabit internet. The router worked great, and all the setting/readycloud were fairly easy to use and understand. I do a lot of game server hosting, and port forwarding with it was never an issue.\r\n\r\nhowever, about 3 years into owning it the 5GHz antenna died. it would constantly drop connection and signal, and slowly deteriorated until 5g was useless, and even turned off. (and yes i updated to newest firmware, factory reset and everything else i could think of. this is unfortunately not a very uncommon issue.)\r\n\r\nI was disappointed, but continued to use just the 2.4GHz band, and had no issues. Until about another year passed; at which point the 2.4g antenna followed the same fate. i had retired it to being an access point not too long ago, but now it can not even handle that.\r\n\r\nagain, great product for the first 3 years. i do not know how common this issue is, but i have seen many people with the same experience. if you plan to replace/upgrade after about 3 years, then it is probably a very good router for you to choose.

This device has a powerful 1GHz dual core processor which can handle significant internet bandwidth. The user interface (basic and advance modes) is intuitive and easy to use. Unfortunately this device falls short in numerous areas that make it unusable for anyone who values their wireless security and as a result I cannot recommend this device as a router or access point for anyone who values a secure network. It is certainly better than the router supplied by your ISP but other manufacturer products have superior security.\r\n\r\nPros:\r\n• Guided setup via browser in wired or Wi-Fi modes\r\n• Firmware check and ability to update during prompted setup mode\r\n• Manual setup also allowed\r\n• Guided setup detects multiple issues (no internet, existing router on network, etc.) and provides options for dealing with each\r\n• Good wireless performance with Beamforming\r\n• 1GHz dual core processor can handle extremely high broadband bandwidth\r\n• QoS in router mode to prioritize downstream bandwidth for streaming videos or music and upstream bandwidth for gaming\r\n• Can create a local “cloud” by connecting a USB hard drive\r\n• Unique wireless network key provided as a default\r\n• LED for Wi-Fi can be held down a few seconds to disable/enable Wi-Fi\r\n\r\nCons:\r\n• Boot up and reboot take multiple minutes\r\n• No wireless MAC filtering – This is available on nearly every other competitor product and should be a mandatory feature\r\n• Access Controls only block internet access. They still allow blocked devices to connect to the router and those blocked devices can discover all wired and Wi-Fi connected devices, scan them for services and ping them\r\n• In Access Point mode the following features are disabled: Access Control, QoS, Parental Controls, Traffic Meter, Block Sites, Block Services\r\n• In Access Point mode the guest network has full access to local devices and this cannot be disabled\r\n• Only one guest network is available for each radio \r\n• Access controls for main network are also applied to the guest network. You cannot have separate access controls for the guest network\r\n• On guest network there is an option to “disable access to other local devices”. While this does block service scanning, one can still see other devices on the network\r\n• Guest network defaults to no security (open access)\r\n• USB “Ready Share” defaults to enabled with no password protection and can be accessed via UNC and HTTP\r\n• USB Media Server defaults to enabled\r\n• Cannot change WPS pin

I asked my dad, who runs a website development company, if we could try using the company's old router, the Netgear Nighthawk R7800, to boost our Wi-Fi at home. He agreed, and ever since we set it up, the difference has been night and day.\n\nOur connection is now lightning fast, with incredibly low ping (ranging from 0 to 5 ms), and downloads max out at the highest speeds our ISP offers. Gaming feels flawless, with no lag at all, and large files install in record time. The R7800 truly transformed our home network into something far more powerful than I expected. If you're looking for a reliable and high-performing router, especially for gaming and heavy downloads, the Netgear Nighthawk R7800 is a fantastic choice!

I had the AC1900 R7000 router for a few years. My dog kicked it so hard one of the antenna broke off. The router still routed the hardwired connections, but the wifi was broke. I am tech savvy, but was overwhelmed by the lack of the router specifications to provide a clear power output. I wanted to make sure that the new router would send wifi from my office to the finished basement's exercise room (through 2 floors). This was important because I cannot use a television antennae there and must rely on streaming. I talked with the "router expert" at BBuy and during the conversation I decided to try to find the same router as before. I am very happy that I bought the Netgear AC1900 R6900v2 router a second time. I read that the R7000 is almost the same, but it is the Costco version of the 6900. I recommend this router for good coverage of a 3,000 sqft home with multiple floors.

This router replace an older Netgear that could no longer support all the devices in our house. I no longer have the issues of IP conflicts and have only had to reboot the router a couple of times in the years I owned it. It's been very stable and the interface is fairly intuitive. The downside, I was hoping to use the USB port to share files across devices in my house, but the interface is just so slow and glitchy. Performance is generally pretty good, though the range on the 5.0 band isn't great in my house, and the 2.4 band has a significant dropoff in bandwidth. So while its not perfect, it was a huge upgrade over my old router (I believe the Netgear 7800), and I would recommend this to anyone, unless the centralized file sharing via the built in USB is vitally important

The speed is great for my household; streaming in HD, gaming online, and browsing on multiple devices all happen without any lag.\n\nThe signal range is impressive too. I can still get a strong connection in the far corners of my house, and even outside on the porch. I also like the smart features in the app — being able to check connected devices and pause WiFi for certain devices is a nice bonus.\n\nIt's been reliable, no random disconnects or needing to constantly reboot like some routers I've owned in the past. I have 4 TVs and 2 Computers hooked up all over the house and they all show excellent for the connection. When my AX1800 died, I went through other old routers and the only one that worked was an old Netgear, which got me by until this one arrived. I also have 1 computer / and Voipo phone service hooked up by ethernet cable to the Nighthawk. Great device so far.

I have used many routers over the years; a common theme with routers is that they go bad quickly, getting hotter as they age until they suddenly expire. Typically, routers I had gotten through my ISP would last 2 years, tops. This is my 5th year with the ORBI satellites. Not only are they working perfectly, but they give my house a full Wi-Fi range. The app makes it very easy to change settings. As a tinkerer, I do miss some of the more advanced settings through the app, but for ease of use and convenience, it can't be beat. I don't need to remember the gateway IP to change settings anymore. I am very happy with these and would gladly buy again, for when they ever go bad.

Router and wifi work OK so far but wasn't thrilled about the customer experience. My 12 year old Apple Airport Extreme gave out and needed something quick. I was not too happy the the Quickstart Guide in the box was simply a card that said to download an app. No manual (I have since obtained the manual online). Create an account, share email address ugh. Go through ad screens for additional software. More ughs. Barrage of emails on "days left for free security software" and offers for more paid services. App is so-so useful I suppose but would not miss it. Had I had the manual, would have simply access the router via ethernet and had it set up in less time. The coverage is about the same as the airport. Have a large lot and 3K SF home, covers everywhere. Apple was also gigabit. What I didn't expect is this thing lights up at night like Times Square. Have to keep the door to my home office closed at night. I've attached a pic of this Netgear next to the Apple, which only had one tiny amber/green light to show status. Oh, and it also had a 2Tb hard drive in it for backups. Maybe this is what all manufacturers provide these days. If so then I would change my "recommend to others" answer. Simpler is definitely better!
