There is Pelican statue on top of the Pelican Works, now Fashion First on Great Hampton Street. The Grade II listed building at 45 Great Hampton Street was built as an electroplating works in 1868. The building is a Victorian imitation of an Italian palazzo, and was originally a factory for Thomas Wilkinson & Sons. By the 1930s the business had declined and the company had moved on.
